What it’s like and not: I own a guitar, I stole that guitar
Example: I have a new book and I own it. This is ownership.
Copyright: a document granting exclusive right to publish and sell literary or musical or artistic work
What it’s like and not: I copyright my work, I took copyrighted work.
Example: I took a picture and published it online but I had a copyright on it. So no one could use my work.
